PATRICIA CAROLYN MEATHERALL
(nee STEPHEN)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia (Pat) Meatherall. After living numerous comfortable years with Multiple Myeloma, Pat died peacefully with her children by her side on December 21, 2020.
Pat was survived by her daughter Bonnie; son Stephen, daughter-in-law Amanda; grandson Lincoln; and brother William.
Born June 21, 1947, in Chatham, Ontario, to Jack and Carrie Stephen (both deceased), Pat grew up in Chatham and on the beaches of Rondeau Provincial Park. Pat graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Education. It was during her university epoch that Pat met her husband of 38 years, Robert Meatherall (deceased). Pat taught grade school French for 10 years before moving to Winnipeg and starting her family. Pat was an avid swimmer, bridge player, world traveler and devout member of the women's education philanthropic group - PEO.
Pat will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and neighbour who's love and generosity to those around her knew no bounds.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Pat on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg.
Thank you to the staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Riverwood Square and Riverview Health Centre for their excellent care and support.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • My condolences to Stephen and Bonnie. Your mother was a great lady. - Posted by: LeRoy Meatherall (Cousin) on: Jan 07, 2021

  • My heartfelt condolences to Steve ( my son in law), Amanda my daughter and Bonnie as the loss of a mom is not easy. Even though I only knew Pat for a few years she was a person who never complained and always wore a smile. She loved being a grandmother to our grandson Lincoln who brought her great joy. Our 10 day trip to St. Lucia November 2018 has many fond memories and her kindness and generosity to me will never be forgotten. Pat always said she was happy to be included in my family special dinners and we were happy to have her. Pat has gone to a better place, may she Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Mary Verhaeghe (Friend) on: Jan 06, 2021

  • Pat was a valued member of our P.E.O. Sisterhood and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her cheery smile, warmth of spirit and kindness are qualities that endeared Pat to many. As a “sister”, Chapter President and Past Provincial President, Pat led, mentored and supported our organization in so many ways. Her willingness to be of service was both admired and valued. Pat will be truly missed and always will be remembered. May her family find comfort knowing that she was so loved and very much appreciated by her sisters in P.E.O. We send our loving and heartfelt condolences to Bonnie, Stephen, and all the family. Pat’s “STAR” will continue to shine and her legacy of love will live on in you and others. - Posted by: Linda Boughton (PEO "Sister" from the Past Provincial Presidents' Group) on: Jan 06, 2021

  • Hi I'm saddened by the passing of Pat, a true family friend who for years shared her life with my bro Fred and family who lived next door. She is in fact the reason they bought their home. Pat and Bob played a big part in Fred and Anna's life. Their kids were like Pat's grandkids. The door was always open for Pat. I will miss her, she and I enjoyed many wonderful chats and soaks in the lake. I hope she rests in peace now and Bob has a martini waiting. Please accept my deepest condolences. • My wife and I wish to express our sincere condolences to the Family on the passing of Pat. I knew Pat from many social, work events and visits, as Bob was a clinical chemist colleague of mine for 30 years. Pat always enjoyed meeting others, and had a kind word and smile for everyone. There were many happy years I recall of the laboratory group social functions with Pat and Bob in attendance. May the many wonderful memories of Pat’s Life sustain you during this time of your loss. • My heartfelt condolances on the loss of Pat. I worked with Bob, but Pat visited him at work from time to time and a number of us got together for some holiday events and occasionally through the year. Pat was always cordial and showed interest in the people around her. It was nice to see her smiling face during visits. I wish you comfort and peace during this difficult time.
