HILDEGARD KNOPF
September 19, 1930 - December 26, 2020
She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Liana, son Paul (Lisa Sommer), in-laws, Heidi Schroeder, Irmgard and Earl Feick, and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Hildegard was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Knopf, parents, Victor and Lydia Schroeder, sister Dagmar and brother-in-law John Redekop, brother John Schroeder (December 19, 2020), Art's parents, Karl and Phillipina Knopf, sister-in-law Ellie Knopf and Liana's husband Donald Klapecki.
Even though much of her life was spent dealing with various health issues, Hildegard was always positive and steadfast in her faith. She was a good mother and passed her love of God on to her children. After Art's retirement in 1997 she loved spending time out at the cottage with Art and the kids just enjoying the beauty and serenity of nature. Sadly her later years were spent dealing with dementia and various other health ailments. Her joy in life and strong faith in the Lord were always evident. She also very much loved and treasured her visits from her "adopted" grandchild and great-grandchildren, Astra Derksen, Starlynn Rose Gilhooly and Aurora Derksen. Even when her memory would fail, the girls' names were always there.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Bethania Personal Care Home, especially the Centre Station and Spiritual Care team. Their kindness and devotion to their residents has been greatly appreciated.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service and interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Spiritual Care Program at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home.
Mom, the sand of time will never wash away the love that I have for you. Your sweet memory will remain forever in my heart.

Liana and Paul, You were my treasures when I was a teenager. So very much time spent at your house and taking you two for stroller rides and to the playground. Your parents were special to me as well. The treats your mom left for me when I babysat were phenomenal. Remembering all of you always...Janet - Posted by: Janet (Loewen) Wiebe (Family babysitter) on: Jan 09, 2021
