Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We are saddened by the loss of our friend Kathy. Will miss her great stories of where she came from and how she got to Winnipeg. She looked forward to our coffee dates Thursday mornings at McDonald’s. Always so happy to see us . The feeling was mutual and we had lots of laughs. Love you and Rest In Peace. • I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Aunty/Teacher Kathy. My sincerest condolences to her family. I have so many fond memories of her: being her student, running into her in the hallways of MACS, and seeing her at other cultural events in Winnipeg. Though she was small, she was always bursting with life, kindness, and warmth. I will always remember the night she invited my family over to her home. She had this flower that only blossomed at night. It opened just briefly and then closed before dawn. We stayed up with her and watched it bloom. All the while she shared stories about her life. It was a beautiful night. I'll never forget it. - Posted by: Gillian Sze (student) on: Jan 10, 2021

  • Dear Patrick and family, Uncle HP, Lawrence and family: We are so saddened to lose Aunty Kathy from this world, and extend our comfort and support to all of you. Aunty Kathy was a close friend to our family over many decades. We also remember her well as our MACS Chinese school teacher. She was dedicated to teaching even when there was only one student in her class or when she met us outside of Chinese school. She always encouraged us to keep learning. She had high standards and took time to chide us as an 'aunt', share life lessons and wisdom when called for. She also knew how to laugh at and with us (and herself) with witty stories. She was an 'aunt' and true friend to many. She will be dearly missed. - Posted by: Jeanette, Brian, and Richard Lim (Family friends) on: Jan 09, 2021
