LINDA ELIZABETH VIPOND
She was the eldest of five children born to Lenard and Cicely Vipond. Upon graduation from Tech Voc High School, she worked for the Canadian Forces, where she stayed until retiring in 2002.
Lindy was a kind and generous person, yet sassy and independent. She had a deep affection for her sisters, and a special love for her brother Bob, who was born with Down Syndrome. Her home was a safe haven for her nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
Lindy is mourned by her sisters, Barb Bailey, Sheila Franczyk (Chris) and Kathy Bernas (Mike) and their families. She will be deeply missed by close friends, Arlene, Wendy, Bev and Mary Lou.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother, brother-in-law, great-nephew and several cousins.
Lindy, in life, we loved you dearly;
in death, we love you still.
In our hearts, you hold a special place
that no one will ever fill.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)
I worked with Linda in the Desktop Publishing section of Canadian Forces Training Material Production Centre (CFTMPC) at 17 Wing Winnipeg (Department of National Defence). We both were Public Servants. When our unit was closed (our work was outsourced) some of us were transferred out or laid off. Linda and I ended up working in another section on base. Linda stayed a couple of months and then decided to retire. I still kept "in touch" with Linda on and off and we usually went to the Sals, Garden City, for lunch. I enjoyed our get-together's and will miss her. My condolences to the family. Lesley - Posted by: Lesley (Co-worker) on: Feb 14, 2021
I worked with Linda at CFTMPC until 2000. Over the years since I would run into Linda every now and then. Whenever she would spot me out walking she would pull along side in her car to say hello. The last time I saw her was a few years ago. Bob was in the car with her and once again she stopped to chat. I was sorry to hear that Bob passed away a couple years back and to learn now that Linda had passed just recently. My condolences to family. - Posted by: Greg Woloszyn (former co-worker) on: Jan 27, 2021

Linda was a dear friend who I met many years ago. She moved in beside us at WIllow Park. We started meeting for tea or coffee on our “stoop” as we called them after I would put the girls down for the night. Who knew how our friendship would grow from a cup of coffee. We would gather for outdoor fun with her nieces and nephews. Lunch or coffee dates, sometimes with our sisters. Linda was a gem. We laughed together, shared family accomplishments, had many scrabble games and would often just sit and talk for hours. Sometimes we wouldn’t hear from each other for awhile but we talked like we saw each other everyday! I along with my girls will miss her dearly. She will be forever in our hearts. Now whenever I have a cup o tea I will remember our friendship. I want to send my condolences to the Vipond family. Lindy will be missed by all who knew her❤️ Hugs - Posted by: Wendy (Friend) on: Jan 23, 2021
She was a very loving and compassionate person who I fondly remember. I remember Linda from Junior and High school. I took the bus to school while attending Tec-Voc with Linda and Arlene Gair. We shared many laughs and jokes along the way. I also met her brother Bob when he attended school on Notre Dame Ave. Gone to soon. - Posted by: Marcia Ginter (Astbury) (school friend) on: Jan 23, 2021
