BRIAN ARTHUR TERIN

With sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Brian on January 29, 2021 at home with his family at his side.
He will be lovely remembered by his devoted wife of 46 years, Melody, son Nathan (Jennifer) Terin, daughter Jillian (Dean) Rach and his five precious grandchildren, Sam, Jack and Ben Terin, Brysen and Brielle Rach who were his pride and joy. Brian will be dearly missed by his mother Marlene Terin; brothers, John, Ken, Rob, Darcy Terin, and sister Debbie Roman. In addition, his brother-in-law Garry (Wendy) Dowling and sister-in-law Rose Dowling and many nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his father Arthur Terin, nephew Steven Kerr and brother-in-law Charles Dowling.
Brian loved his family and his grandchildren dearly; they were the love of his life and he enjoyed the special moments and time spent with each one of them and the grandchildren always knew that Papa would have special treats in his pocket or truck.
Brian was a proud, Mason and Shriner. He joined the Khartum Shrine in 2000 and was a member of the Patrol Unit and the Khartum Komedians. Brian was a member of the Khartum Divan and was honoured to be elected Potentate of Khartum Shrine in 2015.
Brian was an avid sportsman; hunting and fishing whenever he had the opportunity he would head out to the woods or to one of the many lakes in Manitoba and N.W. Ontario. He shared many adventures of hunting and fishing with his family and his childhood buddies, Butch Surma and Bob Bird.
Those who knew Brian well, knew he was perfectionist and everything had to be just right in all facets of his life. When going hunting or fishing he'd spend many hours on preparation and getting all of his gear together even if it was just a day trip, he would always be prepared for a month. Traits that he happily passed onto his son!
The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses at CancerCare Manitoba and the Palliative Care Team for their support, compassion and care.
We thank our family and friends for their support, especially, Debbie for driving us to all of appointments and being there for us, and to our neighbours for all of their assistance and the friendship that they have bestowed upon us; we cannot thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Khartum Shriners Building Fund www.khartumshriners.org or Shriners Hospital for Children, Canada. www.shrinershospitalforchildren.org.
A private family service has been held and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  • To Brian's family, I send my prayers and thoughts to you all, I met Brian at Adesa we had some very good laughs and we drove to Dryden to pick up vehicles. I saw Brian about 2 months ago at 7/11 and we talked for hours about the great times we had at Adesa. Lots of laughs. May you rest in peace my friend until we meet again. Thanks for all the memories. - Posted by: Dave Atamanchuk (Work at Adesa) on: Feb 11, 2021

  • Brian and Butch have hunted in our bush near Starbuck for years. He was one of the most honest people I have ever met. We always enjoyed his hunting stories but I really got to know him last year. He dropped off some sausage and his “famous” wine. We sat on the patio and talked for an hour or two. He was so proud of his wife, kids and especially his grandchildren. I felt like I have known his family for years, though we never met. A stand up guy! - Posted by: Dave and Linda Nielsen (Friends ) on: Feb 09, 2021

  • My condolences to Melody and family. Brian and I worked together in printing for many years at Canadian Publishers/Transcontinental. We were colleagues and I became his boss. Brian was someone I could always count on and I still considered him a friend. He told me many stories about his hunting and fishing trips. He really loved his family and would talked about them all the time. He truly enjoyed his involvement with the Shriners and loved helping out the kids. He told me many stories about his dogs throughout the years with lots of laughs. He will be truly missed by so many people. Rest In Peace my friend. - Posted by: Ken Haddad (Work friend) on: Feb 06, 2021
