JEAN PEARL ELDER
(nee SCOTT)
1928 - 2021
She will be sadly missed by her children: sons, Tim and Keith (Judy); daughter Susan Benias (George); grandchildren, Mark (Andrea), Christopher (Ang), Jason (Diana) and Jennifer (Rob); great-grandchildren, Deagan, Riley-Anne and Rae-Lynn, along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Mom loved her immediate and extended family very much - they were her world.
Mom grew up and lived her entire life in St. Vital, attending Glenlawn Collegiate, and in her teens won the Miss St. Vital Beauty Contest in ankle socks and high heels no less a constant source of amusement to the family. She was an avid bowler right into her 80s and used to love golfing, fishing, travelling, Scrabble, Bridge, the slots and card games played with her own set of special rules. She was also a huge supporter of her grandsons' hockey games, making it to almost all of their games.
Mom met Dad while they both worked at CP Rail and once married, quit to raise a family. She was a very independent person, right up to her passing and lived her last few years at Dakota House, an assisted living facility where she made many new friends. We would like to thank the staff for their kindness and the residents for their friendship.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Sam; brother Glen; sisters-in-law, Jean, Ann and Kathleen; and brother-in-law Rex.
Endless thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital, especially to the ER, ICU and 3rd floor. These doctors and nurses treated Mom like a queen...she was so impressed with their care. Mom raved about the food at the Grace she told this to anyone who would listen. LOL.
At Mom's request, there will be no service.

Those who are loved are never lost.
They dance through our every day,
Causing a moment to freeze, time to stand still,
As they make their appearance in the form
Of the happy memory that they are.
As we catch our breath and wipe a tear away,
A smile is born... as we wait in hope to catch a glimpse of their next return.
Love, missed, remembered for the gracious lady you were.
