DENNIS MULLER

On the weekend of his 60th birthday, in Yuma, Arizona, we lost our dad, life partner, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Dennis Muller.
Dennis had a colourful personality and a hearty laugh that would fill a room. He was a loving, charismatic person who had a unique perspective on life. He had a gift for connecting with people, a fascination with their stories and a way of making you feel like part of the family.
Dennis loved his family more than anyone could imagine and did everything he could to take care of them. His unwavering love for his wife of 33 years, Nancy and his sons, Dylan and Jay (Taryn), filled him with happiness and were his pride and joy.
Dennis was a proud underground miner. He dedicated 33 years to underground hard rock mining in Balmertown, Ontario. His passion for quality, safety and mentoring led him to mine rescue and supervisory roles, which he put his heart and soul into. Dennis loved classic rock, dancing, and watching his boys play hockey. He passed his love for the outdoors onto his sons through boating, snowmobiling, fishing, golf and other adventures. He had a passion for classic cars, working in the garage with his boys, and helping others when they needed it.
At 55, Dennis was suddenly laid off. This blow led him into a depression, with his anxiety and PTSD, a deadly combination. Even surrounded by love, he grew to rely on alcohol and tobacco as a way of coping with the physical and emotional changes he was experiencing. This included discomfort and limited use of his hands and feet due to loss of peripheral circulation. This lifestyle damaged his body further, and he succumbed to a sudden upper GI hemorrhage. He wasn't planning to leave us now. Nancy would like each of you to take this moment to make one small positive change in your life toward self care.
Dennis' family would like to thank the Addictions Foundation Manitoba (AFM) and the Rapid Access Addictions Medicine (RAAM) Clinic in Selkirk for their ongoing support. We are ever grateful to those he loved all over this beautiful world who supported him. In Dennis' honour, learn more about mental health and addictions. Reach out when you need to; these diseases do not discriminate.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  • Dear Nancy and family, We met Dennis last winter when he was our neighbor in Yuma. He was a man that truly loved his family. He spoke about all of you so often and always with such pride and love! Just the thought of his family put such a smile on his face. We pray that Dennis has finally found peace and may your memories of him sustain you all in these difficult days! With deepest sympathies, Bob and Susan Baraniak - Posted by: Bob and Susan Baraniak (Neighbor) on: Feb 07, 2021

  • Dennis was one of the first friends I made after moving to Winnipeg in 1981. We both worked at Niakwa Pizza and he was quick to allow me into his life. I got to know his family and was often treated like a fourth son. Life happens and friendships ebb and flow but memories remain. Rest easy my friend. - Posted by: Ken John Warkentin (Friend) on: Feb 07, 2021
