SERGIO FURLAN
Sergio is survived by his sister-in-law Ida Furlan; nephew Carlo; niece Lena (Tim); nephew Romeo (Joanne); one great-niece and four great-nephews of Winnipeg; numerous nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law in Italy.
Sergio was predeceased by his partner Flora Sanabria; brother Ottavio Furlan of Winnipeg; parents, Andrea and Regina; siblings, Maria, Giovanni, Almida, Domenico, Bruno, Caterina, Albina, Lino, Albina, Mario; nephew Andrea and niece Manuella in Italy.
Sergio was born in Colle Umberto, Veneto, Italy, April 30, 1942. He immigrated to Canada in 1962, where he worked very hard and long days in construction, until his retirement in 2003. Sergio really enjoyed attending family dinner gatherings, always bringing a bottle of wine and huge appetite. He enjoyed horse racing at the Downs, playing slot machines and watching sports on TV. He was always a very quiet man, soft spoken, until his favorite teams the Bombers and Jets played. Travelling to Vancouver, Vegas and Italy, with his most recent trip to Italy in 2016. He loved living in Kiwanis Chateau, where he had many friends and participated in the horse race game activity. He looked forward to his daily walks to Portage Place, where he sat in the food court reading the newspaper or his Treviso magazine, enjoying a cup of coffee and muffin from Tim Hortons. He also enjoyed meeting up with his friends at the Caboto Centre for lunch. He was a member of the Fogolar Association. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
No more struggles, no more pain.
