KATHARINE (KATE) SCHRODT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kate Schrodt (nee Mueller) on February 26, 2021. She was born the second of three children on January 5, 1930 in Bremen, Germany and was predeceased by her husband Bernhard in 2008, after 60 years of marriage, and a son Leonard in 1956.
Leaving to mourn is her daughter Edie (Klaus) Thies, her grandson Christopher; great-granddaughters, Jessica and Victoria; and a brother Paul (Wilma) in Germany.
Kate and Ben, along with their two young children, immigrated to Winnipeg in 1956. In 1960 they moved to their very first and only home in North Kildonan where they cultivated lasting friendships with their neighbours. Also, there were many memorable parties and celebrations at their home with family and friends. Mom and Dad loved spending time at the German Society of Winnipeg, as well as, summers at Camp Neustadt. Again, cultivating a lot of friends. Mom was always thought of as a social butterfly and a very giving and sweet person.
The family expresses sincere thanks to Roy, Charlene, Chris and the staff at Luther Home for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and in accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, to the Manitoba Arthritis Society or to a charity of their choice.

I remember spending many hours with you at your home and the fun dance parties with everyone in your basement. I hope all your fond memories will help you through this very difficult time.
