OWEN BARRY (OB) TAYLOR
January 30, 1950 - February 28, 2021
He leaves to mourn his loving family, daughter Amanda, son Todd; grandchildren, Amy, Nathan, Wayne, Miley, Zoe, Derek and Heaven. Devoted brother Pat, and sisters-in-law, Louise, Jan, and Eileen (Dan); nieces, Shauna, Mackenzie, Mackayla, Shelley, Tammy (Jeremy), Wanda (Brad); and nephews, Mike (Sandra) and Cleve, along with many friends and relatives.
He was predeceased by his father Wilfred, mother Bertha; brothers, Murray and Glen; and nephew Nathan.
Owen was born and raised in Winnipeg. He grew up in the north end on Airlies Street where he made many lifelong friends. He later moved to Sinclair where he made more friends.
Owen was a compassionate man with a heart of gold. He was always so generous and cared for everyone. He had a great sense of humour, even during his difficult times. All who knew him loved him dearly and he will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Owen's life will be held on a later date.

I don't think childhood memories would be the same without Owen in them. He was great friends with my father Allen and is part of my childhood. One of the things I remeber best about Owen is his giving nature. I also remember the constant smile on his face as if nothing in life truly got to him. The times he dropped by to visit my father for chatting and coffee, I clearly recall he was always smiling and laughing. My heart goes out to all of his family mourning his loss. Well,what can I say! OB, was the kinda guy you’d want in your corner, I knew him my whole life. If, you needed help with something, he’d be the one to call. Living on Airlie's Street, he’d be the one to help some of the older residence with their lawns, painting (if needed) (or) go to Harvey’s grocery store (back in the day!) to do their shopping. Owen worked for the City of Winnipeg in different capacities and made sooo many friends. OB, was never a “Playing Sports” kinda guy, he’d rather watch his favorite Sports teams on the tube enjoying a beer (OR Two!). But, when the Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (C.O.P.D) hit his life, that wasn’t going to stop Owen (Slowed him down a bit) he always had LOTS of time for his friends and family. He never talked about changing the world, politics or anything that he couldn’t change, he just said, “One day at a time, that’s all we can do!” and never truer words spoken. Well, OB, you were a GREAT Friend and I (along with countless others) will TRULY MISS YOU. REST IN PEACE BUDDY!
