MARK MICHAEL STARODUB
February 28, 1957 - February 27, 2021

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mark on February 27, 2021, the day before his 64th birthday.
He was predeceased by his father Peter, father and mother-in-law, Charles and Margaret Fox, niece Stacey Fox, sister-in-law Linda Fox, and brother-in-law Louie Smelsky. Greeting him from across the rainbow bridge will be his beloved pets, Taffy, Kelsey, Muffy and Murphy.
Left to mourn his tragic loss is his loving wife Charlene who has 44 years of cherished memories. Also mourning his loss are his mother Pauline, his sisters, Maryanne Peters and Joanne Starodub, and brothers, Peter (Jacquie, Liz, Caitlin) and Greg (Lorraine, Georgia), in-laws, Harold Fox (Pat), Ron Fox, Lynne Hallam (Doug), Sandra Cronin (Gary), nephews, Chris Hallam (Angela, Kayla, Meghan), Jay Hallam (Michelle) and Scott Fox (Kim, Jonas). Also missing Mark is his beloved dog Mindy of 13 years. A huge paw print has been left on his soul.
Mark worked at Gerdau in the spec lab and retired in 2017. He also spent some time teaching, which included terms in Lockport, Teulon and Winnipeg. Upon retirement he had more time to participate in his favourite past time - golf. He was an avid golfer, golfing almost daily. Mark enjoyed travelling, was a whiz at math, had a very quick wit, and could be very tech savvy. Since retirement, he and Charlene were fortunate to spend the last few winters in Florida with their friends, Jennifer and Bill. His Florida golf courses were his "happy places" where he made many American, Finnish and Canadian snowbird friends.
As per Mark's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
Anyone so wishing may make a donation in Mark's memory to CancerCare or an animal shelter of your choice.

Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.
