AMBROSIA PATRICIA (BONNIE)
PAWLUK
June 7, 1932 - March 4, 2021
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, John (Vicky), Patti (Bob), Dawn (Craig) and Lori (Bill); grandchildren, John E. (Melissa), Josh (Cher), Jaymes (Ashley), Jordan (Nicole), Robbie, Pam (Greg), Jayson, Casey and Reid. Also, her precious great-grandchildren, Nevayah, Emma, Makenna, Addie, Olivia, Jack and Owen. Mom is survived by loving siblings, Lovie, Zenith, Muriel, Ben (Linda) and Michael (Judy); in-laws, Elsie, Sophie (Clarence), Ernie (Phyllis) and countless nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Gloria and Patricia.
Mom was born and raised on the family farm in the Pleasant Home District by parents Peter and Mary Chreptyk. She attended the Plum Ridge School and completed her education in Teulon. At a young age, she left home to work in Winnipeg at Paulin Chambers with her sister Lovie.
Mom and Dad were married in 1952 and together raised their children and worked the family farm for 48 years until Dad's passing. She remained on the farm for another eight years and then moved to Gimli in 2008, but continued to visit the farm and help where she could.
Mom was entirely devoted to her family with unconditional love. She was always there with an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and comfort food.
She touched the lives and hearts of many people through the numerous organizations and activities that she took part in. Mom was a lifetime member of the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Winnipeg Beach, where she devoted her time and energy selflessly until its closing. Once moving to Gimli, she attended the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church where she continued to volunteer her time and talents.
Mom took great enjoyment in singing in the church choir, Ukrainian music and dance. She took great pride in her green thumb on the farm, as well as during the years she worked at the Teulon Golf and Country Club as gardener. She was also famous for her cinnamon buns, butter tarts and cookies; where golf course staff and golfers would line up to purchase those delicious treats.
We convey our deepest gratitude to the EMS Staff, Dr. Fulmore of Gimli and STARS Air Ambulance. In addition, we are so thankful for the care and compassion received by the Health Sciences Centre Emergency staff, GB3 Care Team, and special thanks to Dr. Semus and Dr. Hiebert.
A private family Mass and interment is being held.
In lieu of flowers, Mom's charities of choice are STARS Air Ambulance and the St. William's Cemetery.
Mom did not suffer the ills of old age and lived her life to the fullest to the very last.
Mom (Baba), you were our rock.
Although physically you are gone, your memory and spirit will continue to live on
in us, your children, your grandchildren,
and great-grandchildren. God bless you
Mom, rest in Peace until we meet again.

I am deeply saddened and miss Bonnie. She was a warm, generous, personable, independent and strong-minded woman. There are and were just a few of us left in what was the St Peter and Paul (Ukr Cath) Church of Wpg Beach. Together, Bonnie and all (approx. 12) of us including those who have passed worked hard to maintain a physical presence of the church without success. She was a driving force in giving our community a social hub for friends and acquaintances to enjoy the company of others. When I think back, there was an earlier time when I felt a loss and that was when she moved from the farm to Gimli when she was but a mile away. That was temporary and now the unexpected happened and loss is forever. To John, Patti, Dawn, Lori and all your families my condolences. She and her John are now dancing with the stars. We were so sorry to hear of Bonnie’s passing. Bonnie was a wonderful Mom, Baba and great friend to all who knew her. She and John were such a great pair, and my God, how they loved to dance. People would actually stop and watch them as they polkad around the floor at Crabby’s or a wedding or social. In fact...they loved to dance so much that they would stop and turn up the radio and polka with their friends, Emil and Edna in the middle of#8 highway at three in the morning on their way home from a wedding or social. Great memories for all of you. She will be missed but always fondly remembered. Kathy and Bert - Posted by: Kathy Campbell (Friend) on: Mar 13, 2021

Our heartfelt sympathy to all the family. Bonnie was a role model to many of us. Her friendly ways, her encouraging words “sure you can do it” have always inspired me to try harder. Heaven has gained another beautiful soul to join in the angel choir. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
