JEAN DZOGAN
(nee HILDEBRANDT)
April 18, 1926 - March 8, 2021
Jean was born in a village near Krakow, Poland and immigrated to Canada at the age of seven with her mother and sister Kathy to join her father on the farm in Limerick, Saskatchewan. At age 16 Jean left to work in a sewing factory in Winnipeg where she met her husband Bill. They were married in 1947.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Bill in May 2009, her parents, John and Pauline Hildebrandt, sisters, Kathy Grenkow and Marion England and brother George Hildebrandt. Left to mourn are her daughter Linda and husband George Penner, grandsons, Jason and Craig Penner (Sara Ly), sister Mary Grenkow, brothers, Joe (Hilda) and Frank (Marie) Hildebrandt, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mom was renowned for her cabbage rolls and perogies. Until last year she was active with the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church perogy making group.
The family expresses a sincere thanks to her case worker Timmalee, to River Ridge II for the wonderful care that they provided, Mom loved her time there, and to the Middlechurch Home for providing compassionate end of life care. We thank her caring Riverdale neighbours who always looked after my mom after she became a widow. Mom was able to live independently in her home into her 94th year.
Mom enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Her grandsons, Jason and Craig were always of paramount importance to her.
Cremation has taken place. Because of Covid there will be no service.
Flowers are gratefully declined.

We just learned of Jean's passing. We are so terribly sorry for your loss Linda. We lived beside Bill, until his passing, and Jean for thirty years. They were the best neighbors anyone could have ever been blessed with. You and George and your sons are in our thoughts and prayers. Thinking of you with love, Janice. - Posted by: Jeff and Janice Wood (Neighbors) on: Oct 17, 2021

So sorry for your loss. Mrs. Dzogan was a lovely person and I remember her fondly from growing up near her and Mr. Dzogan on Cathedral Ave. They were always happy and laughing. I hope your memories comfort you. - Posted by: Carol Herman (Kachur) (Neighbor on Cathedral Ave.) on: Mar 13, 2021
