EDWARD EDSON PRICE
November 15, 1943 - March 15, 2021
He was predeceased by his mother Orita and father Joseph Price.
Edward was born in the beautiful Parish of St. George, Barbados. He immigrated to England for studies in Psychiatric Nursing, in which he excelled, then later made Canada home, where he has enjoyed a long and respected career as a Social Services Worker. His value for lifelong learning would see him graduate from the University of Winnipeg and Specialty Studies in Intellectual Challenges from the University of Manitoba.
He had a strong work ethic and maintained friendships with colleagues and associates for many years.
His hobbies and interests included; scrabble, track and field sports, horse racing, and travel to points near and far, and he always laughed heartily at a good joke.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Vernie, sons, Mark and Julian Price. His siblings; Hazel, Vivien, Desmond (Velda) Linda, Merline-Pearlita, Shirley (Goldbourne-Lorenzo Alleyne) Paxton (Lisa) Small, Prisca, and Marguerite. Edward is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews to whom he was close. He will be dearly missed.
As per his wishes, cremation will take place followed by interment and Celebration of Life at a later date.
The family sincerely appreciates the calls, cards, and letters of support from friends and colleagues near and far. Your kindness has meant more than you can know. We extend sincere gratitude to The First Responders, The Prime Program, and the caring, compassionate staff of West Park Manor Personal care home.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
If you wish, donations may be made in Edward's memory to Parkinson Canada or West Park Manor Personal Care Home (Staff Care Fund), 3199 Grant Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3R 1X2, or a charity of one's choice.

Heard of Edson's passing is so sad as he was so full of life and laughter. We shared many belly laughs at the office staff room. May his journey on the other side be as delightful and full as it was on Earth. - Posted by: Ms Ileen (friend) on: Aug 28, 2021

Sorry to hear of Dave's passing, I have just now heard the news. Dave and I worked together in the Interlake prior to his retirement. I have fond memories of working out at the gym with him and sharing a laugh or two. I particularly enjoyed his vast knowledge of track and field ... we would talk for hrs. (at work none the less) about who would win and the reasons why. He was a blast ... always with a boyish grin and a devilish chuckle. So sad ..Please accept my condolences Vernie and sons, Mark and Julian Oh yes... he was a master scrabble player and he wouldn't let you forget it. You will be missed my friend. - Posted by: wade bilodeau (Colleague ) on: Apr 08, 2021
