MARGARET ELIZABETH BARBER
Born in 1921 and raised on a farm near Elora, ON, Mom was a graduate of the first three year diploma class of Ontario Bible College. During this time, Mom served in various church work in Bancroft, ON and at the Scott Jewish Mission in Toronto. Mom met and married Dad in 1945 and they served in pastorates in Elmira, ON (1945 to 1948), Regina, SK (1948 to 1953) and at Calvary Temple, Winnipeg (1953 to 1997). Mom and Dad would celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary together before Dad predeceased Mom just five months ago.
Mom is survived by one brother Leonard (Gertrude), sons, Lorne (Illa), John (Karin), Jim (Charlene), daughters, Lynda (Thor) and Sharie (Wayne), nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One of Mom's favourite Bible verses was Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
We wish to thank the staff of Calvary Place's 3 South unit for the tremendous care Mom received over the last four and a half years.
A private family only graveside will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Place Personal Care Home.
