TERRANCE HARRY JAMES
STUBBS
Terry lived with one purpose, to love and make the world a better place, and maybe to eat soup, chocolate, ice cream, apple pie, and drink tea. No matter how tough things got, or how bad the situation, he always said "I'm good". He was always good. He was always positive.
Terry is survived by his shining light - his daughter Kim who he would follow until the ends of this earth and more. He is also survived by his sons, Lee and Daryl, and daughters-in-law, Haylee and Shirley. We hope we make you proud, dad. Terry's wife and love of his life, Gladys, of over 50 years; his grandchildren, Matthew, Brennan, Lara, Andrea, Lleyton; and his brother Alan and his wife Corky. We will all miss you dearly.
Terry grew up in St. Boniface where we all heard many stories of his childhood where he would climb the water towers, where he would tell us about the rustling noises of many motorcycles pulling up to his parents place for large meals. Terry loved taking the family to Caddy Lake, and to his family's cottage at Grand Beach. With a comb in his back pocket, and a smile on his face, he helped so many people. He would give to every homeless person on the corner, he would sponsor children all over the world, so they could have a chance at a better life. He was good. He was great. He was kind, and by God we all loved him.
To his many friends that he grew up with, to the people at the churches he attended, to his lodge members, to his friends from the Masons, thank you for loving Terry. To the staff at the Waverley and Rosewood. Thank you for the care you gave him these past few years.
From your son Lee, when I close my eyes
you are still watching me play hockey,
and when I get off the ice you are there.
You were always there.
From your daughter - you were my best friend. What we all wouldn't do to give
you one last hug, to say goodbye. I know
you are sitting in the sun with your parents,
your brothers and sisters, you are sipping
on tea, you are having your favourite soup,
you may even be on a shopping spree, and
I know you are warm now Dad and you
don't need your space heater any more.
Heaven just got a little more kind.
May you rest in peace.

Dad, it's been 5 years. Not a day goes by that I don't miss you. Oh dad. Everyday I think about you. I love you. I miss you. I'll see you again one day. - Posted by: Kim stubbs (Daughter) on: Jun 14, 2025

Gladys and family, Very sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. We were school chums, and later in life kept our connection even though I moved to BC some 50 plus years ago. Met for lunch on many visits to Winnipeg and on your visit to BC. Will always remember him for his wit and ready laughter, and particularly for his knack at hot-wiring my dad’s truck when we wanted to sneak a ride after hours. Rest In Peace, old buddy. To Gladys and family, We were so sorry to hear that Terry passed and our hearts go out to all of you. He will be missed by many I'm sure. He was always warm and friendly and we miss his waves and the across-the-street chats when he was sitting on your front step. And, of course, we have so many wonderful memories of the neighbourhood potlucks. Those were the "good old days"! You may not have noticed but Bill used to leave our Christmas lights on to make sure they were on "just one day longer than Terry's". It was a friendly neighbourhood competition that may have been one-sided but it used to make me laugh. Our hearts go out to you.take care and stay safe...
