Condolences & Memories (15 entries)

  • I first met my cousin Faith in 1966, when I was just 13 and I had visited her at the rooming house where she was staying while she attended classes to become a lab technician. Right from our first meeting, she took me under her wing. She had moved into the city from her hometown of Togo, Saskatchewan. Just as Faith was always so encouraging toward all her fellow students and coworkers, Faith was always very encouraging and ready to give support to me, her young cousin, whenever we were together or had telephone chats. After we had each met and married our sweethearts, we would enjoy various times of larger family get togethers and also the restaurant breakfast meetings as just the four of us, Faith and Lawrence and Bruce and I. Time flew by and our regular summer visits back and forth between our cottages grew to include retirement winter visits between our AZ vacation rental homes. I always enjoyed and appreciated Faith’s wisdom, knowledge, compassion, and sense of humour. She took seriously the task of keeping track of family for the family tree book that her mom had started, and she faithfully kept in touch with numerous long distance family members. I could go on and on about her faithful attention to things she valued in life and I will continue to miss her. I am thankful that Lawrence has received many messages of support and love and therefore knows that Faith, his beloved, loving wife has left unforgettable memories in the hearts and minds of so many people, whose lives she had touched and had such a wonderful effect upon. Praying blessings and comfort upon you Lawrence, until you see and hold your sweetheart once again in your arms, in your heavenly home. - Posted by: Joan Relke (Cousin) on: May 14, 2022

  • My memory of Faith goes back 65 years when we were children in Togo. I would visit Faith and her family on their farm, for what would now be called "playdates". It was there that I learned about farm living. When I look at Faith's photo now, I can still see the 9 - 12 year old that I knew back then. My condolences to Faith's family. May her memory be a blessing for everyone. - Posted by: Janet Minuk Wees (childhood friend) on: May 08, 2021

  • Lawrence, I’m very sad to know that Faith had a difficult journey with cancer and that she passed away on April 30th. When I was with you two and Candee and Brian, Faith was always smiling, pleasant, very interested in others and very interesting herself! I’m so sad you will be missing your special person. I believe her spirit will be watching over you. My deepest sympathy - Donna Eastoe - Posted by: Donna Eastoe (Friend) on: May 08, 2021

  • I first met Faith as an instructor at Red River. She was encouraging and helped her students feel confident in their skills. She had an easy, upbeat, and friendly way that sparked a life-long interested in Microbiology. In subsequent years, Faith became a friend. She was happy and easy to be around. She always loved to have a laugh or two, and was a great joke teller. Condolences to Lawrence and her family. She will me missed. - Posted by: Michele Libling (student and friend) on: May 08, 2021
