MARGARET FRANCES SIGURDSON

Margaret Frances Sigurdson passed away peacefully on May 17, 2021 at the age of 96.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Norman Sigurdson. She is survived by her sister Irene Hodgson of Winnipeg, nieces, Lenore Hodgson of Canmore, Dianne Cornelson of Winnipeg and Andrea Greene of Houston.
Marg was born and raised in Winnipeg. She went to Earl Grey School and Kelvin High School. After graduating from school Margaret was employed by Great West Life, then went on to work at Air Canada as an executive assistant for the rest of her working career. In 1960 Marg married the love of her life, Norman. Together they enjoyed many travels including the UK, Iceland and Florida. Marg and Norm were avid golfers. In the winter they enjoyed cross-country skiing and ice skating. Marg was a voracious reader right up until the time of her death. She was proficient in solving cryptograms. After Norm passed, Marg bought a dog, Elske to keep her company. She became interested in animal welfare and contributed to animal shelters.

A private interment was held.

  • I first met Margaret and her husband Norman when I opened a business bedside her . Its now been 27 yrs I cherished her friendship. She was a lovely person, eccentric, loved to travel, avid book reader, loved golfing, loved to cook she made many treats and goodies for us over the years . I've heard many stories and treasured memories of her life . I will miss her weekly visits. She felt a bit like family to me, like a grandma. I am privileged to have been in her small circle of friends and family.
