MARILYN LESLIE MARNOCH

On Friday, May 14, 2021 Marilyn Leslie Marnoch, wife, mother and amma passed away at the age of 71.
Marilyn was born on January 7, 1950 in Winnipeg to Arthur Leslie and Lilja Elin Moore. She grew up in the West End first on Arlington St. with her parents, her brother and her afi, then in what would become her forever home on Spruce St. Mom attended Clifton, Sargent Park, and Tec Voc High Schools before eventually becoming an Educational Assistant, primarily at Sargent Park School.
Family was everything to Marilyn and she made anyone who was special to her children, and others, a part of her home.
She is survived by her loving husband James, and three children, James (Marie), Leslie, and Keli (Sarah), as well as grandchildren, Elise and J.D., sister-in-law Tanis Moore, cousin Sigrid (Don) Zueff, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Marilyn will now be joined with her brother Harold, father Les, and mother Lil.
Anyone who met Marilyn felt her love immediately and was completely taken in by her smile, laughter and warmth. She lived for company, both at the house in Winnipeg and her beloved cottage in Gimli. She was proud of her Icelandic heritage and expressed it through her love, and by making all guests feel velkominn with coffee, tea, and if you were really lucky, her famous ponnukokur and kleinur.
Marilyn will be greatly missed but will be kept forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Main Street Project are encouraged so that more people can feel the warmth and comfort that Marilyn gave to us all.
