(nee KERN)
July 30, 1971 - May 23, 2021

On May 23, 2021, our beautiful daughter took Jesus' hand and went home.
She leaves behind her loving parents, Herb and Noreen Kern, brother Dan and sister Kathy Schmautz, along with her two nieces, Haylee and Madison Schmautz; Aunt Lilly Rosentreter, Uncle Ron and Aunt Shirley Watson and many cousins.
She was predeceased by brother-in-law Darren Schmautz; grandparents, Charles and Grace Watson, and Carl and Martha Kern; and Uncle Ed Kern.
Her wonderful sense of humour, friendly presence and compassion as a nurse will remain with those fortunate to know her. With ear to ear smiles and big hugs, she made an impact on everyone she met.
Special thanks to Heather's special nurses, Jan Williams, Kim Witt and Heidi Schollenberg; and special friends, Erin Day and Kathy Jones, who all took very good care of her in her final days.
Funeral pending.

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • Heather had a very special place in my heart and always will. Some of the most fondest moments of my life were when I got to know her at the Oasis which I know was her happy place and always will be. Our dogs used to play together and we used to have a few summer beverages from time to time and for those times I will always be grateful. I will never forget the Beer Can Windchime that you and Erin made for me... I wish I still had it. I know in her final days she was well taken care of and i hope everyone can take comfort from that thought. Heather can now relax at her Oasis with Kira forever. • The words in this tribute aptly describe the Heather that I knew when she worked as a clinic nurse in CancerCare Manitoba. She was delightful and funny, and so giving of her time and talents. Always with a ready smile, and hug, for her patients, and her colleagues. From reading the many tributes here, and on the Sobering Chapel website, one can see that Heather touched a great many people. To Herb, Noreen, Dan and Kathy, and Heather‘s entire family, please accept my heartfelt condolences. May your memories of her be a comfort to you. - Posted by: Michelle Powder (Former co-worker - CancerCare Manitoba ) on: May 29, 2021

  • Condolences to the family. It was always a pleasure to deal with Heather at a scene or a call when she was an M.E. Even when things were unpleasant she always had a smile that would light up a room. I am very saddened by her passing. Godspeed Heather, I am so sorry.
