ERNEST (ERNIE) HARRISON BENNETT
July 6, 1932 - June 4, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 with his wife Thelma near his side, Ernie passed away at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home at the age of 88.
He was predeceased by his father John, mother Emma (nee Brown) and brother Herb.
Left to cherish Ernie's memory are his wife Thelma (nee Svaling); his son John, daughter-in-law Kelli (Braeden/Dayna, Josh/Echo, Patrick/Catherine and Drew), daughter Cory and son-in-law Steve, Bev and Alison Sterling, the Parker's, the Reilly's, the Self's and numerous friends and relatives.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of River Park Garden Personal Care Home (second floor) for their kind and compassionate care.
A small family graveside service will be held June 15, 2021 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated in Ernie's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

  • As first-time homebuyers, we were so fortunate to have Ernie and Thelma as our neighbours on Tidewater. Ernie was always willing to have a quick chat and was a source of great advice. We still have the two wooden toys that Ernie made for our two young daughters. We will remember Ernie with great fondness. - Posted by: Bruce Waters and Carol Johnson (former neighbours) on: Jun 12, 2021
