DR. JUDITH LYNNE WINOGRODZKI
(nee WESTERHOF) PhD
1972 – 2021

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Judith Lynne Winogrodzki (nee Westerhof) at the Health Sciences Centre ICU on June 4, 2021, at the age of 48 years.
She was predeceased by her mother, Judith Lorraine Westerhof (nee Meagher) January 25, 2011 and her brother, Robert Allen Westerhof May 15, 2017.
She is survived by her loving son, Timotheuz Tymek Winogrodzki; sister, Karen Anne Bellefontaine; twin brother, John Gerrit Westerhof (Charmaine); her father, Gerrit Westerhof; uncles, Bill (Susan) Meagher and Jerry (Cindy) Meagher; cousins, James (Lindsey), Michael, Daniel; nephews, Toki (Karen) and Michael (Elena); the Winogrodzki family, Richard, Christina, Arthur and Ola (Nick); and her many friends and colleagues.
Judith was born in Winnipeg, attending schools in Charleswood, and graduated from Oak Park High School. She attended the University of Manitoba, graduated May 31, 2000, with a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours) Microbiology. After further studies in Microbiology the doctorate of Philosophy was conferred on her at the October 2006 Convocation.
Her greatest commitment in life was to her son Tymek. She was caring, generous and selfless, always placing the needs of others before her own. In her chosen profession, as a research scientist, she was a dedicated warrior. She studied antibiotics and preventable diseases for the benefit of all human kind. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Many thanks to all the Medical staff at St. Boniface Hospital Emergency and Health Sciences Centre ICU for their loving care of Judith.
Cremation has taken place, a celebration of Judith's life will follow at a later date.
