STEVE SHWALUIK
1923 - 2021

Born in High Plains, MB the son of John and Claudia Shwaluik. Steve was the youngest child and only son with three older sisters, Mary, Pauline and Olga. He was just a little boy when he lost his father. Helping on the family farm became a priority over school.
Volunteering for the army at the age of 17, he fought for our freedom in Sicily and Italy. After the war he married his lifelong love Jean and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary before Jean's passing in 2019.
Together they raised three children, Larry, John and Kathy. Two of their children passed tragically at a young age.
Steve had many occupations during his life and with great pride received his high school diploma after going back to school in his 40s.
In their later years, Steve and Jean loved to host guests at their beloved cabin that they built on the shores of Lake Manitoba.
He leaves behind his son John/Joanne, two grandsons, Che and Tyler, two great-grandsons, Xander and Jaxson, and their mother Mandy.
He had a long and interesting life and worked hard to provide for his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
