He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dale Heather (nee Grouette); daughters, Jolene Manaigre (Mike) and Stacey Bonneteau (Randal); grandchildren, Breanne Manaigre (Neil), Brayden Manaigre (Lauren) and Nathan Bonneteau; great-grandsons, Grayson, Malakai and Noah James Allan; brother Gary; mother-in-law Shirley Grouette (Octave); Auntie Anne; Uncle Gerry; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son Marc, mother Leona, father Rene, sister Maureen, and father-in-law Joe.
Allan married Dale on September 29, 1973. In 1974 he began his career as a firefighter with the City of Winnipeg Fire Department. After 28 years, he was fortunate to retire at the young age of 50. Allan loved reading, fishing, hunting, basically anything country, and visits from family and friends. If there was a party with a good time to be had, you could always count on Allan being there.
The family lived in Dufresne, Lorette, Falcon Lake, and for the past four years, in Winnipeg (Transcona). He fought cancer twice, first in 2016 and again in 2021. Some would say he lost the battle, but this is not so; he is now in Paradise where cancer is never allowed to enter - so he has WON the battle.
We will miss the endless laughs and pranks, the radio always on a classic country station, or a western on full volume on the TV. Never one to shy from helping, he always had a tool to lend, if not his own two hands.
Due to COVID-19, a private interment has been held. A larger Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when the restrictions allow.
Fly safe with the angels Daddy
and give Marc a big hug for us.
