WILFRED (WILLIE) HAMOLINE
He leaves to mourn his family: sister Louise and husband Stuart Wilson, Roger Fillion (brother-in-law), brother Philip and wife Joey (nee Bridges) Hamoline, sister Beatrice and husband Larry Johnston, his many nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and nephews. Even though the list is long, Willie will be leaving a huge gap in our family link.
Willie was born July 31, 1959, at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg but lived in Lorette, Manitoba where the family had a farm. The family moved to St. Vital in 1964 when Willie was five years old. He started school at Varrennes, then completed his studies at Glenlawn Collegiate. While in high school Willie joined the Cadets. Once he completed grade 12 he got a job at MTS as a computer operator with the help of a very good friend, Vance (Vinny) McFadan. Willie then realized that working for someone else wasn't really working for him, so he joined his father Armand with his lawn care business. Willie eventually became the sole owner of this business, which also included snow removal; he called his business Crystal Lawn Care. His ambition grew again and he started another business called 'One Man Band' where he played many socials, weddings, and Christmas parties. He loved being around people, food, good music, and fireworks. He became so popular that he expanded his business by hiring others to work for him. Willie continued to live in St. Vital on Crystal Avenue where he was loved by all of his neighbours, and would often do their lawns and snow removal for free. His kindness to others was remarkable; always wanting to give rather than receive, always making sure everyone was ok.
Although Willie had no children of his own, he cared for many as if they were his, lavishing them with love, food, money, gifts, and good times. He loved and spoiled his nieces and nephews to the extreme. Some of their favourite memories with Uncle Willie always involved fun and lots of food. (KFC and Pizza being a favourite)
We knew little that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, it has broken our hearts to lose you. You leave us with many good memories, your love and kindness will be our guide and though we cannot see you now, you will always be at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
We love you so much more
than words can say.
Bye dear brother.

Willie has being a lifelong friend of mine and his passing deeply sorrows me. There is not a day goes by I do not think of him. Camping, fishing, and going to our mutual friend's Don Sleeva's cabin always was special with Willie present. I have loved him dearly and will miss him greatly! I am so sorry to hear of Willie's passing. I had known Willie since his days of playing music for Norberry Community Clubs Pre Teen Dances. He played music for our functions at the St. Boniface Golf Club and at my niece's wedding. He was also our family's "lawn man" and always had fun teasing my Mom about senior prices. We lost touch for the last few years and I am so sorry we did. Willie was such a gentleman and I know he will be so missed. Gone way too soon. Our Sympathies to all of the family that will miss him. Too young to go we think, but better things to come to those who are faithful. We wish you the best. Willie always brought us watermelons and treats for the dog when he came out to Rosenort. Sometimes we couldn't find good watermelon but Willie could. - Posted by: David Hiebert (Customer & Friend) on: Jul 24, 2021
You left us without warning, Not even a goodbye, And I can’t seem to stop asking why? I didn’t see this coming, It hit us by surprise, and when you left for heaven a small part of me died. Your smile could brighten anyone’s day. No matter what they were going through. I am going to miss your morning text, just to see how I was doing. And everyday for the rest of my life I‘ll be missing you. Love you so much my dear brother, and one day we will be together again. - Posted by: Beatrice Johnston (Sister) on: Jul 24, 2021
