Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • I'm so sorry for your loss! I didn't know Paul well but we became friendly faces for one another at McDonald's and at all of the local thrift shops, where we were both looking for the best deals in town. Kind Regards, Wendy - Posted by: Wendy Peters (McDonald's and Thrift Shop Friend) on: Aug 13, 2021

  • Mr. Conrad who always asked us to call him Paul, was a regular shopper at our location. We looked forward to seeing him when he came in. He was always friendly and had a smile on his face for us. It saddens us all that he is no longer with us. He was not just a customer but someone who made our day. • Sending deepest condolences to the Conrad family. We all lost a good man as Paul was a beautiful person. Paul's personality, love of life and caring for those around him made him so very special. His family came first and he was so very proud of his children! The stories he would share with me were priceless. His wonderful grandchildren made him so happy and filled his heart. He was a strong willed and dedicated man in every sense of the word and he loved his work (no matter what Dept) and the people he worked with. He enriched our lives and made us better people (committed)! Paul shared his wisdom, work ethic, and his garden veggies. We will truly miss the visits we had with Paul many times a year. Rest in Peace friend. - Posted by: Wendy and Darren Dusik (Friend and co-worker) on: Aug 03, 2021

  • My condolences to Paul’s wife and whole family on your sudden and unexpected loss; the passing of a dear and close family member and for me the passing of a good friend, coworker and union colleague, that I had admired very much in all of my personal experiences, covering all his positions or capacities, he worked in. (Whether it be Via Rail or the C.A.W.) Despite Paul being a coworker to most at Via Rail Canada, Paul, like many already know, was also actively involved in the union, holding different positions for a good number of years. For me, working in the executive or rep positions, he was always a great source of advice and ideas, or on his part, conscientiously devoted in striving to promote better working conditions for his members or trying to improve paid benefits covered by the corporation, especially during Contract renewals and negotiations. He had a wonderful personality with a keen or great sense of humor. And always a big ball of energy, seen by all, even after surpassing his 65 years of age. He will be greatly missed, but the memories of him will always linger and continue to last. It was a privilege and honour to have met him, known him and worked with him during my years at Via Rail and at the CAW. I truly appreciate the opportunity I was given by having this acquaintance and special friendship, during the years at work, specifically, both at Via Rail On Board Services and the CBRT&GW, through to the CAW and Unifor. Again I will miss him and his unique character and friendly and warm personality. Rest In Peace Paul, brother to all his union members, including me. May you now enjoy your eternal life in Heaven, with all of its joy , happiness and love. - Posted by: Stan Pogorzelec (Friend, Coworker and Union Colleague) on: Aug 02, 2021
