Jens is survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Beate, daughters, Susan (Andrew Dickson) of Winnipeg and Janet of Calgary, younger brother Henry (Brigitte) of Bad Reichenhall, Germany, granddaughters, Jasmine Szoke of Edmonton and Natalie MacKell of Calgary, as well as one remaining uncle and several cousins.
By invitation only, his Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 PTH 52W, Steinbach, MB.
The family extends their gratitude to Southern Health-Santé Sud's palliative care and home care teams for their excellent care and support during Jens' last few weeks of life. A special thank you also to the wonderful staff at Silver Lining Care, and to Dr. P. Fredette for his many years of care and compassion as the family's physician.
