February 26, 1950 – July 29, 2021
Ken was born to Florence and Albert Coe on February 26, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was predeceased by both parents and brother Keith.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kathleen, his sons, Scott and Shawn, their wives, Vanessa and Allison and his grandchildren, Owen, Hailey, Mya and Nixon.
Ken grew up in East Elmwood on Beach Avenue, then moved his family to River Heights in the late 1980s. He was active with the community club sports and coached both his boys hockey teams. He supported his sons and his grandchildren in all the sports that they played. He always made sure they had everything they needed, not just in sports, but in life.
Professionally, Ken had a long and fulfilling career with Winnipeg/Manitoba Hydro. He spent most of his 35+ years as a Foreman of Street Lighting. He was always proud of his dedicated work to the Winnipeg Christmas Lights on Portage Avenue. Later into Ken's retirement, he and Kathleen moved to Gimli, MB.
Ken had a heart of gold and loved spending time with his family. Ken and Kathleen spent their summers in Gimli and winters in Palm Springs. Ken's smile was contagious. He was always known for his sense of humour, great card playing and his pace of play on the golf course.

our hearts forever.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors in the ICU at Health Sciences Centre for all their compassion and care. Special thanks goes out to Dr. April Boyd for all her years of support.
In accordance with Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place and the service will be held at the Lakeview Hotel, Gimli, MB, on August 8 at 1:00 p.m.
Please note that with COVID restrictions there will be reserved seating for family and specific guests. Overflow seating will be available on the patio.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Ken. Our deepest sympathy to Ken’s wife and family. I recall so many visits with Aunt Florence, Uncle Bert and the whole family on Beach Avenue when we were children. Their visits to Selkirk were also a special event. Over the years we did not see much of the cousins, but cousins are always on your mind and we always think they will be there to catch up with soon. Alas this is not always so. My condolences to the family. Ken was a dedicated Hydro employee and an active member of CUPE Local 500. His leadership in the Christmas lighting downtown was a tremendous contribution to our City. Kathleen Carol and I are deeply saddened by Ken’s passing. Regardless wether we were in Palm Springs or at the Sewer Tour, Ken was a guy you could count on to make your day. Funny, respectful, giving and a guy that was a light in the room. A surprising passing for a good person. He will be missed without a doubt.
