THOREY GUDRUN JACOBSON
Thorey was born in Ardal on December 7, 1928 to Siggi and Valla Gudmundson, the only daughter and sister to her brothers, Ingvar and Svienni. She grew up going to school and working at the local corner store in Arborg. She was married on November 19, 1949 to the love of her life, Kristinn Jacobson. Together, they had a mixed farm on the Jacobson homestead for many years until Kristinn's health declined. After Kristinn's death in February of 1991, she still lived on the family homestead until 2014, when she moved into Arborg at the assisted living facility. She was very proud of the fact she lived at Svalbardi, for over 65 years. She loved her visits with everyone and especially enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee and her delicious baking. Family meant everything to her, she knew the family trees and history of both sides of her family. She was a driving force with setting up the first Jacobson reunion in 2008. Some of her many hobbies included knitting beautiful Icelandic sweaters, mitts, and stockings.
She was predeceased by her husband Kristinn of 41 years. Thorey was the last of her "generation" of Gudmundsons and Jacobsons. Thorey is survived by two sons, Ingvar (Janie) and Dale (Debbie); three grandsons, Kevin (Mandy), Ryan (Karla) and Scott (Stacey); three granddaughters, Raeanne (Ryan), Kristin (Quinn) and Justyne (Ran); and five great-grandchildren, Tristinn, Taylor, Kaylea, Ellie and Bexley.
Special thanks to the staff at the Arborg Assisted Living, home care and Arborg Hospital for their care and compassion shown to her.
A graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Haga Cemetery, with Barb Holmstrom officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, Ryan, Scott, and David Jacobson, Ran Shulman, and Rick Schamber.

Ingvar and Janie - Your mother has lived a long and wonderful life. Even though I did not see your mother often, I do remember her as a very pleasant and friendly person, and always with a smile on her face.
