September 24, 1994 - July 28, 2021

Sarah Bucheli was born on September 24, 1994, at the Selkirk Hospital in Manitoba, Canada, to parents, Marianne and Hans, and sister Barbara.
Sarah lived with her family all her childhood outside the town of Anola, on her parents' dairy farm. Sarah attended Anola Elementary School, then Springfield Collegiate Institute, where she graduated in 2012 with honours. Sarah moved out on her own to Oakbank right after high school, then to Winnipeg.
Sarah purchased a home in 2016 in the neighbourhood of St. Boniface, where she has since resided. Recently, Sarah completed her diploma in Business Administration, also with honours, from Red River College, in June, 2020.
Shortly afterwards, Sarah was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. On July 28, 2021, after a year-long strenuous battle, Sarah passed away, aged 26, in the Intensive Care Unit in Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre, with her parents and sister by her side.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank whole heartedly Sarah's team at CancerCare, HSC's GD6, emergency, and ICU wards, the Never Alone Cancer Foundation, Winnipeg's firefighter paramedic service, and all those who sent prayers, their love, and support.
A private celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021. A larger, open-house gathering is being planned for September, to better include all those who loved Sarah.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Never Alone Cancer Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I was a friend of Sarah's in high school, and for a few years after I graduated. We lost touch for a while, until Fall of 2019 when I started school at Red River and happened to run into her. I had forgotten how close we used to be and was so happy to have that friendship back. We caught up on our spares during that time before the pandemic unfortunately forced our classes online. When I first learned of her passing I was angry that I was reunited with her only to lose her, but after some reflection I am so grateful that we got to spend a little bit of time together before she had to leave us. I'll miss you Sarah, thank you for everything. - Posted by: Derek (Friend) on: Sep 02, 2021

  • I had the honour of being one of Sarah's instructors at RRC. Sarah was a curious and dedicated student, who was always kind and very supportive of her peers. My heart and thoughts are with Sarah, her family and many friends. - Posted by: Beth Benoit (Instructor) on: Sep 01, 2021
