JEAN M. ANSON
Jean was born April 1, 1923 in Winnipeg, daughter of Cecilia and Charles Cowie, formerly of Scotland. Jean grew up in St. Vital, completing all her schooling there. She then progressed to various sales-clerk positions at both Sears and The Bay. But she will be most remembered and loved by all for her wonderful devotion to all her family members and friends over her long life.
Jean had a very sharp mind, even as her years progressed, always remembering to send birthday wishes to all her family members, including her 12 great-grandchildren!
We know she would want to add the following personal comments about her life. Through good times and bad times, Jean was surrounded by love and support of her family and friends. She had a passion for animals and had many dogs and budgies. Her sense of humour and kindness touched many people and she loved to give treats, especially on special occasions to children and animals. Memories of her caring nature will be treasured by those who loved her.
Jean was predeceased by her son Ken Millar (Rose) in 2014, son Brian Millar (Janice) in 2013, her brother Chuck Cowie, and both husbands, Bill Millar and Jim Anson. Left to cherish her memory are son Doug Millar (Marcia), grandchildren, Jeremy Millar (Kim), Dan Millar (Tanya), Lisa Millar, Diana Millar (Quin), Rob Millar (Lindsay), Candice Millar Ball (Colin) and Jessica Millar. Also surviving is her best soulmate over these last five years at The Boulton, Henry Dueck.
A celebration of her long and wonderful life will be planned for September, 2021 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home in Winnipeg. Burial services will be conducted at Brookside Cemetery beside her dear mother, Cecilia Ogston Cowie.
Memorials may be made to Assiniboine Park Conservatory and/or Winnipeg Humane Society.

Although I was not close to Great Aunt Jean, she struck me as a wonderful, caring woman. I would like to send my condolences to her family from myself and my mother, Mary Lou Bettess. We're so sorry we did not realize earlier of this loss. - Posted by: Christy Schmidt (Great Niece) on: Apr 12, 2022
