JACOB (JACK) WINTERS
The family is also struggling with the circumstance of the pandemic that we are all experiencing and caution and proper consideration will not allow for the service and proceedings that we had hoped to have at this time. A longer obituary will follow.

12:23 AM Central. Monday, September 6th, 2021 (Labour Day). It was brought to the attention of my parents and myself by my youngest sister, that the recently deceased Dr. Jacob Winters (Winter?) was principal at James Nesbit School when the two of us were enrolled there not long after said school first opened in 1975-6. We were also students at Maples Collegiate until the summer of 1983, when our father was transferred by Correctional Services Canada (his employer) to Red Deer, Alberta, there to fill an administrative position at the Bowden Correctional Facility. I had mused that it would have been most interesting IF, upon our return to Winnipeg in November 1991 (although aforementioned sister had already returned to this city a few year prior to this), or some time afterwards, we had called upon him in some way for a kind of remembrance of those times (insofar as it would have been possible to recollect them). We were rather astonished as to the particulars pertaining to his life, times and overall career. He WILL be missed, most assuredly. - Posted by: David Martineau (likely a student at a school where he was principal) on: Sep 06, 2021

We sadly acknowledge the passing of Jack. We fondly recall the many years that we spent with Jack and Marge in Mexico. Our friendship was further cemented as we often went out for breakfast together at Salisbury House. Our condolences to Marge, Corey and Karen on the passing of a good man. Jack you will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Norman Freedman and Louise Hintz (Friends) on: Aug 21, 2021
