Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • Dan, I am so sorry to hear of Eldeen’s passing. We usually caught up with one another through calls several times a year. I just reached out today by phone and email. Your sister was so good to my Mom Ruthe Toothill. We would chuckle and remember stories of our parents! Eldeen was a gentle but strong soul! - Posted by: Susan Flanders (Friend) on: Jan 05, 2022

  • Eldeen was one of my favourite customers at Pan Am Pool where she faithfully attended Aquafit classes. She was a joy to chat with and I looked forward to see her regularly. I was heartbroken to hear of her passing. She was such a sweet and caring lady and always took the time to see how I was doing and what was new with me. I will miss her so much. - Posted by: Tracie (Friend, aquafit customer) on: Sep 24, 2021

  • Eldeen was a regular at the pool. Though it was brief, we have become friends. Her cheery disposition every morning before she goes to her Aqua classes was one of the things that make my day. Her outlook was just so positive always. She would often ask how I'm doing and she really took some time to get to know me on a more personal level to a point I now consider her like an aunt. Whenever she asked me for help with her weekly aqua fit registrations, in turn she would indulge me in stories and even offer some life advice. One of the best things that I will remember her for, is how she was always encouraging and that she always looked forward to hearing from me with how I'm doing with my studies. It has been months since I moved on to another job, but she will forever be missed. My deepest condolences to her family. - Posted by: Kamillah (Friend) on: Sep 24, 2021

  • We were sorry to hear about Eldeen. We met her and Johnny on our neighbourhood “lockdown” walks, and our friendship grew from brief hellos to long chats, emails, and trading wild blueberries and home-grown cucumbers. Eldeen and Johnny could always be counted on to join us for an extra block. We admired her grit. We miss her very much - our walks won’t be the same. - Posted by: Liz Ready & Margaret McKenty (Friends) on: Sep 07, 2021

  • Eldeen has been our patient for so many years at Clarity Dental, before that she was a patient of Dr. Louka for decades. We will miss her. RIP Eldeen. Clarity Dental team, Dr. Hala Salama - Posted by: Hala Salama (Dentist ) on: Sep 05, 2021

  • I met Eldeen in about 1952 at Westworth United Church. We went to CGIT together and later were leaders in this group. Her mother and my aunt were friends when they were young women. Although we did not live in the same city after 1965, we kept in touch. I was coming to Winnipeg regularly to help my sister who was very ill and Elden picked me up many many times. She made a difference in my life and my husband George and I will miss her. - Posted by: Catherine Marlin (Long time friend) on: Aug 31, 2021

  • Dan, I am so sorry to hear of Eldeen's passing. I'm praying that she was not in pain at the end. She was a remarkable lady and an inspiration to many. We met many decades ago and have stayed in touch throughout the years. They say a sign of friendship is the ability to pick up where you leave off and for Eldeen and I, that was the case. Months would go by without contact and then we we were finally able to touch base it was like no time had passed. I hope that she is now as peace and you can take solace in knowing she is no longer in pain. In the darkness I will see her face and hear her voice. - Posted by: Gill Giles (Friend) on: Aug 31, 2021

  • Sorry to hear of Eldeen's passing, I went to school and with other friends had been doing lunches at Bellissimos. Glad to hear her best friend Johnny will be looked after as he will miss her too. - Posted by: Dianne (Friend) on: Aug 30, 2021

  • I met Eldeen in the shower room at the Pan Am pool a couple of years ago. I would always be leaving my class and she was coming to her Aquafit class. We hit it off chatting and continued to chat on subsequent pool visits. I liked her openness and positive outlook. She was never negative. I just really took a shine to her. I will miss her cheery face and smile. I’m very sorry for her family’s loss. - Posted by: Eibner Nancy (Aquafit friend ) on: Aug 30, 2021

  • Dan, I am so sorry to hear of Eldeen's passing. It said a brief illness so that means she did not suffer for long. Be thankful for that and now she is with the Angels. Remember all the good times! - Posted by: Judy Grant (family friend) on: Aug 28, 2021
