ANGELICA SIGNHILD STEELE
(nee DAVIDSON)
March 17, 1927 - August 25, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Angelica Steele announce her passing on August 25, 2021.
Angelica was born in Oakview, Manitoba on March 17, 1927, the youngest of six children to parents Joen Hendrik (Harry) and Vilhellmina (Villa) Davidson.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Jim, sister and brother-in-law Eda and Phil Gavan, brothers and sisters-in-law, Gusti and Gladys, Bertie and Stella, Henry and Aurora, and sister-in-law Anna Davidson.
Angelica is survived by her youngest brother Peter, and numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, great-grandnieces and nephews, and even some great-great-grandnieces and nephews. Aunty Angel used to brag about the number of her nieces, nephews and their offspring and would proudly keep count of them until she was no longer able to do so.
When her Mom was ill, Aunty selflessly stayed on the family farm to look after her. After her Mom passed, her Dad took her on a trip to his birth place, the Faroe Islands. It was a trip of a lifetime and she loved reminiscing about that trip.
Aunty moved to Winnipeg where she worked as a business manager for Dr. Victor Rosenfield for many years. She joined Toastmasters and was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. Aunty was a formidable scrabble player, and she loved to knit and garden. She was always very supportive of family.
Aunty married Jim Steele on December 28, 1968. They moved many times due to Jim's job and Aunty had many stories about her adventures while living up North. When they relocated to Victoria, BC, Aunty became a Jehovah Witness and dedicated herself to service. She also got a job with the BC government where she worked until she retired. After Jim died, although Aunty had many friends in Victoria, she moved back to Ashern to be close to her brother Peter.
On June 14, 2017, when she could no longer live on her own, Aunty moved into the Eriksdale Personal Care Home. The family would like to thank the incredible staff at the Personal Care Home for their compassionate and loving care, and for the kindness they extended to her during her four year stay.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home Activities in memory of Angelica Steele, Box 280, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0, or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
There will be no formal funeral; a private family interment will take place at a later date.
