EDITH DARLENE CLARKE
August 7, 1948 September 9, 2021
She is survived by children, Trevor, Terri (Ronnie), Crystal, Jade (Geoffrey), Eileen (Chris), Shane, Jesse, Terrill, and Courtney (Bucky), her special baby number 12 Oceanna Raine, brother Wayne Clarke, her 33 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members. She was predeceased by husband Ernest Easter, her children, Albert and Valdez, her mother and father Sarah and Albert Clarke, brothers, Douglas, Johnny, Nelson and Edward, and her sister Kimberly.
Darlene held many roles as our beloved family Matriarch, mother, sister, auntie, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was deeply devoted to her family and forged unbreakable bonds based on her insurmountable love for them. Darlene was a strong, courageous woman who provided guidance, mentorship, and wisdom to all those she encountered. Although it pains us that she has left this world, we find comfort that she is now free from all her earthly pain and suffering. Darlene's ever lasting legacy of strength, determination and love lives on in all of those whose lives she touched.
Darlene's family would like to thank the medical staff at Selkirk General Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre, as well as the staff at Gilbart Funeral Home who provided thoughtful and gracious care. We greatly appreciate all who provided comfort and support to the family during this difficult time.
The viewing will take place on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, MB. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Little Britain United Churchyard Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Gilbart Funeral Chapel. COVID-19 restrictions will be followed during all ceremonies and masks will be required for attendance. The pallbearers are Trevor, Jesse, Shane, Bucky, Glen and Tyler. Honourable pallbearers are her daughters and grandchildren.
