HELENE PRYSTUPA
Through Helene's journey in life she acquired many friends and is greatly known for her gentle, kind and positive attitude. She was always the one to find the joy in any situation and used her positive outlook to survive breast cancer in 1989. She held a strong dedication to building community and was active in Tecumseh 4-H, Catholic Women's League and various church groups. She was a devout Christian who started every morning with praying the Rosary. Until the final years of her life, when her health started to fail, regular church attendance was so important to her. She felt fulfilled when she was able to attend services with her family by her side.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Many memories were made with the older five grandchildren camping at the Big Whiteshell, from early morning fishing, to days at the beach and late-night wiener roasts. Later in life she was blessed with three more grandchildren who rekindled her inner child. She felt such joy each time they gave her a makeover or played one of the many games they made up. She truly appreciated and took advantage of the technology that allowed her to keep in constant contact with her children and grandchildren as they spread their wings and moved throughout the country.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg or the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation.
