I had the great pleasure of working with Don through his support of Health Sciences Centre Foundation. On our first visit, his hospitality shone through, as he insisted on cooking us lunch. We shared several lovely and lengthy conversations. His love of and pride in his daughters was obvious. I met Sandy and Mary when they accompanied Don to donor events - where he ruled the room by visiting with former colleagues at HSC! I will miss my conversations with Don and am so sad to learn of his passing. To his daughters - your dad was a very special person. My deepest sympathies to you and your families. - Posted by: Glynis Corkal (Acquaintance) on: Oct 04, 2021

I went to school with a couple of Donald’s daughters and had the pleasure of visiting their cottage one summer weekend. I’ll always remember the rousing bagpipe record in the background at dinner time! Fortunate enough to work a summer job in the office of Drs. McInnes and McInnes, they opened my eyes to a career in dentistry. My sincere condolences to the McInnes family on the loss of a wonderful man. - Posted by: Catherine Dale (Family acquaintance ) on: Oct 02, 2021

Our sincere condolences to the entire McInnes family. I have fond memories of Uncle Don. On my cross-Canada motorcycle trip (in 1974 when I was 18), Don was kind enough to show me around Winnipeg and also sold my bike and sent me the money. Cille and I are very happy that we were able to visit with Don and the Mcinnes family at Lake of the Woods on our road trip in 2017. Between afternoon gin and tonics and evening Scotches, we played some bridge. Although after several drinks, I don't think we did very well at the card game. He will be missed by many. - Posted by: Robert Harris (Nephew) on: Oct 02, 2021

My condolences to Don’s friends and family. Don was a dear friend of my mother Elsie, and she spoke fondly of him often. He was generous in taking her to church services at Westminster when she was unable to drive herself, and they frequently shared laughs over a scotch. He was a lovely man and certainly made her world brighter in her declining years. We are grateful for his friendship. - Posted by: Sue (Hughes) Cunningham (Friend) on: Oct 01, 2021
