STEVEN FRANK SYDORKO

It is will great sadness that I announce the passing of Steven Frank Sydorko, at the age of 95, on September 28, 2021. He passed peacefully at Park Manor Care in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Steve was predeceased by his son Ron; daughter Tamara; sisters, Sophie, Bertha, Kay, Anne, Jean, Mary and Millie; and brother Mickey. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Elsa (Boland); daughter-in-law Linda and numerous nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Ontario and BC.
Steve was born in Brightstone, Manitoba on August 11, 1926. He spent 30 years working in business. First as a bulk agent with Shell Oil, then together with Elsa they built a car wash and fast food restaurant in Lac du Bonnet that they worked at for 13 years. Steve loved many things, besides his children, he loved Elsa. Together they spent many happy hours working on their yard, feeding birds and chipmunks, travelling south as snowbirds to Florida and Texas and enjoying bluegrass music. He loved to have friends and relatives over. He had a short stay at Park Manor Care, but received wonderful care. Thank you
A celebration of Steve's life will take place at a later date.

May the Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from the other.

Love Elsa

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • So sorry for your loss Elsa and family 💔 - Posted by: Sharon Bissonnette (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2021

  • I am so very sorry to learn of your loss. Steve was a good friend of my parents for a good many years while living in Lac du Bonnet. I will always remember Steve as being a very charismatic and caring person who always treated me with respect. He was a frequent customer of the revered Surfside Restaurent that employed both my mom and me for a number of years. I loved that job and I loved working there and am very appreciative of the kindness bestowed upon me during my growing years. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity of reaquainting recently where I quickly learned that Steve seemed to have not changed one bit over the years. RIP Steve. My thoughts are with you dear Elsa. - Posted by: Shirley Beznoski (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2021

  • Dear Elsa, My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. So many wonderful memories of you and Steve, your Mom and my Dad.
