MOHINDER KAUR JOHAL
August 2, 1940 - September 30, 2021

It is with great sadness the family of Mohinder Kaur Johal, announce her passing on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the age of 81 in Winnipeg, MB.
She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Donnie (Marla) and Tim (Sukhi); grandchildren, Riya and Sajan, Rasleen and Simrit.
Mohinder was predeceased by her husband Jagpal Singh Johal; parents, Hukam Singh Sangha (father) and Ishar Kaur Sangha (mother); and siblings, Rattan Kaur Atwal (sister), Harbhajan Singh Sangha (brother), Surinder Kaur Ghag (sister). Survived by siblings, Joginder Kaur Ghag (sister) and Charn Singh Sangha (brother).
She was born in Langeri, Punjab, India in 1940 and married Jagpal Singh Johal in 1964 before moving to Canada in 1969.
Mohinder completed her Bachelor in Education in India where she soon thereafter was a school teacher before immigrating to Canada. Along with her husband she spent her early Canadian years raising her family in Kamloops, BC. In 1975 they moved to Manitoba. She taught in a local school for three years. Along with her academic achievement Mohinder also had an entrepreneurial spirit. She opened a daycare for pre-school children and ran the business for more than 10 years.
Mohinder was a loving, caring, and genuine person and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was devoted to family life and religion and spent much of her time with friends and the East Indian community.
A service (by invitation) will take place later in the week.
