John was one of six siblings, a loving husband to Kim and father to 3 boys, Matthew, Marcus and Jordan and grandfather to Shawn and Alexie. He was always a quiet man who loved family, nature and animals. His love of animals followed him through his hobbies as well as his career, many times nursing injured animals back to health to be released back into the wild.
John's sense of humour was unconventional to say the least and anyone that has been on the receiving end of one of his practical jokes knows this all too well.
John was a collector of all kinds of odds and ends that often left his sheds and basement completely full, but at the same time would happily spend a day or more finding anything among them for anyone that asked, his grandson Shawn loved climbing through and around all the "treasure" when he came to visit, always finding something to go home with.
John was very stubborn and set in his ways to say the least, not a fan of any new technology, no matter how much time it would have saved. He wasn't the most talkative, and would very rarely tell you how he felt, however he always found a way to show it.
John spent the last many years of his life tracing back his family's heritage hundreds of years, relentlessly scouring churches and libraries for information, something he was very mighty proud of.
Please remember John, and his giant heart, generosity, dry, quirky sense of humour, and relentless curiosity with his family as they celebrate his life.
