EVELYN SYLVIA ALLAN
(née LINDSAY)
1923 - 2021
Left to lovingly remember Evelyn are her sons, Bill (Ann) of Cornwall ON, Don (Lorraine) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Julia and Brendan, brother John, nieces and nephews, and her cherished relatives in Ireland.
Ev was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Jim in 2003, parents, Mildred and Percy Lindsay, sister Dorothy, daughter Valerie and son-in-law Kevin in 2003. Val and Kevin were always in her thoughts.
Ev was born in Winnipeg, and went to Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. She worked at J J H Mclean & Co. Ltd. prior to getting married. Ev met Jim on the boardwalk at Winnipeg Beach, and it was love at first sight. Ev had many interests including curling, St. James Lawn Bowling, square dancing and cards. Ev loved to travel, and when the children were young, travelled widely in Canada and the United States, with a trailer, to such places as Expo 67 and Disneyland. Later, Ev and Jim travelled to England, Scotland, Ireland, Barbados, Mexico, Florida, and had numerous trips to Hawaii, which was her favourite destination. Ev also enjoyed travelling with the MB Hydro X Seniors Club. Ev was always there for her family, and never missed a birthday or anniversary. Ev had a gift for music. She started playing piano, by ear, as a young lady. Later, she bought a Hammond organ, which she enjoyed well into her 90s. Those who knew Ev will remember her passion for shopping. Ev was kind, considerate and always willing to chat.
In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation will take place, and there will be no funeral. A private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

To all of Ev's family I offer my deepest condolences. I have known Ev for many years as well as her brother John and her sister Dorothy and family and also her mom. She was a wonderful person who was very talented. - Posted by: Joan Porteous (Friend) on: Oct 09, 2021
