DOROTHY GOERTZEN
She was predeceased by her parents, Clara and Alexander MacLean; brothers, Hamilton and Arnold; husband of 56 years, William (Bill); and son-in-law Edward. She is survived by brother Ronald; daughters, Patricia (Neil), Sandra, and Elaine (Frank); grandchildren, Jake (Charlene) and Faith; great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Lillian and Madelyn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born and educated in Winnipeg, mum travelled east to study piano at the Toronto Conservatory of Music in 1946. Returning to Manitoba, she embarked on a career teaching music that spanned six decades. It was through music that mum met and married Bill in 1954. Their long life together was centred on family activities including many travels far and wide.
Our sincere thanks to the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their kindness during her residency.
Mum will be dearly missed but remembered as a polite, kind and generous lady with a ready smile and a "thank you" for all. A private family gathering will be held at a future date.
