ROBERT (BOB) FREDERICK CARTER
July 26, 1937 - October 8, 2021
He was predeceased by his wife Patricia; son-in-law Phillip McLellan; parents, Norma (nee Bain) and Robert E. Carter; in-laws, Stella (nee Saydak) and Pete Frovich; sister Audrey and Roy Paton; as well as many aunts and uncles.
Bob will be remembered by his daughter Debra McLellan; son Robert (Kathy) Carter; grandchildren, Justin and Jillian Carter (Dustin Hewitt); brother Doug (Joan) Carter; nieces, nephews, cousins and friend Mrs. Desmarais.
Bob was born in Winnipeg, raised in Transcona and then East Kildonan, where he met Pat. They married August 28, 1954 and shortly after, started their family. Dad enjoyed camping with his family as well as excursions to The Pas with family friends, the Bickfords. In 1976, they moved to Ste. Anne to experience quiet country living. After some years, they returned to reside once again in Transcona. He retired from Supercrete/La Farge after many years of service. To keep busy, he held various part-time jobs.
Bob worked hard to support his family. He enjoyed sports, mainly hockey, baseball, golf, and curling. Dad was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of East Kildonan in his early years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre C4 for their care and compassion.
Donations in Bob's memory may be made to Riverview Health Centre-C4 or a charity of your choice.
