ALEC PANTELUK
October 16, 1922 – October 17, 2021

Peacefully in his sleep, Alec passed away on October 17, 2021 at Concordia Place at the age of 99 years.
Alec was born on October 16, 1922 in the RM of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. He is predeceased by his parents, Tina and Michael Panteluk of Meleb, Manitoba; his first wife Alice Panteluk (1995); his second wife Cecil Panteluk (2020); daughter Alexandria Panteluk/Miller (1980); step-son Dennis Panteluk (2004); brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (Sheila) Panteluk, Metro Panteluk, Johnny (Lil) Panteluk, Bill Panteluk; Kay (Fred) Warcimaga, Rose (Steve) Burrack, Hellen Blashko, Marie (Joe) Capri, Harold Hearfield and Richard Jerris; nieces and nephews, Steve Panteluk (2007), Martin Keller (2016), Keith Keller (2018), Catherine Warcimaga / James (2018) and Bruce Warcimaga (2012).
Left to cherish his memories, his son Michael (Janice); step-son Doug Panteluk; grandchildren, Melissa (John) Lemire, Melanie (Chris) Rideout, Lindsey Panteluk, Brett (Janelle) Panteluk and Tara (Dong) Miller/Lien (Philadelphia); great-grandchildren, Blake and Finley Rideout, Emily Lemire, Livia and Mylia Panteluk; sisters, Betty Hearfield (California), Angie Jerris, Jean and Elmer Keryluk, Paul Blashko and Jean and Walter Biluk; as well as lots of nephews, nieces and other family and friends he had thoughout his lifetime.
Dad was raised on the family farm in Meleb until he was 16 years old. He left the farm and starting painting residential and commercial with Home Painting. Through the 70 some years, he painted with companies such as Carolson Painting, Lockin Painting and Wester Paint. Then he started a partnership with his friend Eddy Suchie and formed the company A&E Painting up till he retired in 1997.
He volunteered with the Canadian Order of Forrester's Club 373 for some 30 years plus. He was elected President for some few years and loved to golf with the Foresters. Then he retired a Life Long Member. He enjoyed ten pin bowling at Chateau Lanes for several years, then with a senior league at the Laverande Bowling Lanes. He also loved curling and watching wrestling and the Winnipeg Jets.
Dad fought against Dementia for several years when he had to go into a Nursing Home. First Villa Nova, then to Concordia Place for the last five years. When visiting dad, he would tell us he was there because he continued to paint after his 65th birthday, it was like they put him in jail for that. He also would mention that he was much older than he was because back then they did not register him until the next year. It was hard to see him deteriorate the last few months. I know he is happy to be with his wives, his children, his brothers and sisters and his parents.
