LARRY PENNER
February 17, 1953 - October 18, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father Larry Penner on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the De Salaberry District Health Centre, St. Pierre, MB, at the age of 68.
Larry leaves to mourn his two sons, Steven (Robyn) and Sheldon (Michelle); grandchildren, Auryn, Dominic, Jayce and Katelyn; as well as siblings, Shirl Thompson, Diane (Dave) Wiens, and Vic (Alice) Penner and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was predeceased by his beloved daughter April; parents, Jake and Katie; niece Patricia; great-nephew Shane; and brother-in-law Mel.
Dad grew up on the family farm in Rosengard. Here, he found a true passion for farm life, animals and a love for being outdoors. Those passions grew stronger as he got older, often out hunting, riding horses or raising cattle and other livestock. He also inherited a passion and skill for carpentry from his father Jake, which ended up being his job for many years. Dad loved sports as well. You could find him most Saturday nights in front of the TV cheering loudly for his favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. If not watching sports, he loved playing them and coaching as well. But his greatest love was always his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
A special thank you to the amazing staff at St. Pierre Hospital for the incredible care you gave dad in his final days (with an extra special thank you to Dana and Ingrid). Also, to all of his wonderful neighbours at Oakview Manor in Grunthal. He cared deeply for all of you.
At dad's request, there will not be a public funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Grunthal Meal Program, an organization that was very important to our father.
It's time to take Bonnie for one last ride Dad. Drop the reins and let her fly.
