FLORENT JOSEPH ACHILLES (LARRY) BEAUDRY
Date of Passing: Oct 30, 2021
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory
FLORENT JOSEPH ACHILLES (LARRY)
BEAUDRY
Larry leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Lorna; his children, Allan (Linda), Tim, Lisa (Rick), and daughter-in-law Pat. His grandchildren, Krista, Heather, Justine, Megan, Alex, AJ, Caitlin, Jarrett, Zac, Liam, Carly, Riley, and Tayler. His great-grandchildren, Chayce, Lucas, Joseph, Conor, Freya, and Rowan. Larry was predeceased by his sons, Terry and Don; daughter-in-law Sharon; parents, Emma and Ulric; and brother Ubald.
In his earlier years, Larry served a two-year stint in the Navy, spent time in the North and on the Prairies as a radio operator before starting his career, in 1954, in air traffic control. He retired in 1980 at the age of 56 and never looked back. He planted his roots in Winnipeg, and when asked by his grandchildren why Winnipeg?... he said "there is no place where the sun shines on you like Winnipeg". In 1952, he married the woman of his dreams and together they raised their family. Like a true Frenchman he walked, talked and ate fast, but enjoyed every second. His roots are strong and will continue to grow and prosper. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something nice for someone else, unexpectedly and without explanation.
The service will be Friday, November 5, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. All in attendance will be asked to show proof of vaccination.
We love you,
you are my sunshine,
my only sunshine.

I too have such wonderful, happy memories as a kid living down the street from the Beaudry home. Mr. Beaudry would welcome you into the house everytime. He was a lovely baseball coach, which was no wonder, as he was a fantastic father to my childhood friend Lisa and her brothers, and all their friends. A life well lived and loved. - Posted by: Sharon Jeanson (Friend) on: Nov 20, 2021

My father, Ray Peden, worked with Larry as an Air Traffic Controller. Even when we moved away from Winnipeg, they kept in touch and Dad and Mom were always so delighted to visit Larry and Lorna when they came to Winnipeg. My sympathies, on behalf of them, to Lorna and their family - Posted by: Jean Burton (daughter of friend of Larry) on: Nov 09, 2021

Our deepest sympathies to all of you. He was a very special uncle to me. We didn’t see each other that often but when we did it was memorable. He will be missed. Take care Auntie Lorna. Lisa: I have been thinking of you ever since I heard. I saw the live stream and it was very nice. Take care. Carol & Brian - Posted by: Carol Yuzdepski (Neice) on: Nov 05, 2021

OMG, did Larry EVER know how to live. He and his wife Lorna were good friends of my mom and dad throughout their lives in St. Boniface. SO many parties at home where who was always dancing and laughing? Mary, Gerry, Larry and Lorna. He would always be careful to offer advice only if you needed it (he advised me a lot). We will miss Larry so much. Rest in peace my friend. Condolences to the family. - Posted by: BRIAN MOUSSEAU (Family friend) on: Nov 05, 2021

To Larry: I always felt safe when you brought your glove to Goldeyes games. I guess playing in the D.O.T.R.A. softball league, alongside my dad, honed your skills. LOL. Eileen and I will miss you. To Lorna and family our deepest sympathies on the loss of a husband, father and grandfather. Sorry we will not be able to attend the service. I was a lucky kid moving into Bernier Bay when there were only a few people. I found myself one of the Bernier Bay buddies who congregated at the Beaudry house. Larry and Lorna made all us kids feels special and accepted. He had a wicked sense of humor right to the end it seems. Sincerest condolences to his biological kids, grandkids and to Lorna. The rest of us “adoptees” are heartbroken so we can only imagine your pain at losing a wonderful father, husband, grandfather. His heart was big enough to include everyone who needed a little encouragement. Thank you God for giving us the chance to know him. I have such wonderful, happy memories as a kid living down the street from the Beaudry home. Mr. B would always welcome you into the house with a big wave and a smile. He taught me how to catch a one-hopper and to get that bat off of my shoulder! He was a fantastic baseball coach with the patience (most times) of a saint! He was the only person that I allowed to call me Carrot Top. You will miss him. - Posted by: Erin Ferris (Friend) on: Nov 03, 2021

Larry had a great sense of humor. I remember Dad and I talking to Larry and Don about the great fishing place we went to in Ontario. Fish would line up to be caught we told them. The four of us went for a weekend there and the only thing we hooked was the bottom of the lake. Of course, Larry had some well placed zingers on the way home such as "All those fish back there, do you think they were in the wrong line somewhere?" and "Keep your eyes open for a fish and chips place because I sure could go for some good fish right now". - Posted by: Bruno Rivard (Family Friend) on: Nov 03, 2021

Lisa - We want to tell you how sorry we are that you and your family have lost such a precious soul. You have always spoken highly of your father and although we didn’t know him personally, we can see his (and your mother’s) character in you. May you have fond remembrances and great joy as you walk through this difficult journey and may every tear shed be a testimony of love you’ve shared in your lifetime. Praying for you! Remembered with great affection by his friends in the UK but especially by Gillie to whom both he and Lorna were so kind when her husband (Kevin) passed. A true gentleman with a constant twinkle in his eye. Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory - Posted by: Gillie O’Rourke (Friend) on: Nov 02, 2021
