THELMA ELIZABETH (BETTY) BELL
Betty will lovingly be remembered and greatly missed by her son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Lisa; two grandchildren, Brady DeLuca (Hillary) and Jaime DeLuca (Marlis); brother Bob Allen (Yvonne); sister Catherine Wiseman (Bruce); many nieces and nephews, their families and many friends.
Betty was born in The Pas and raised in Neepawa. She moved to Winnipeg and met Bob, the love of her life. They were married July 17, 1954, and were inseparable for 64 years until Bob passed in 2019.
They lived on Winnipeg Avenue for over 60 years. Betty chose to not work outside of the home once Scott was born and became a professional homemaker. She devoted her time to her husband, family and friends.
In Betty's younger years, she participated in curling, golfing and enjoyed camping with family and friends. Above all, she loved her veranda on Winnipeg Avenue where numerous hours were spent playing games, watching TV, entertaining and touching base with neighbours. Betty was always the ultimate people person and was often the life of the party.
Because of the close proximity to Health Sciences Centre (HSC), she offered compassion and her home to many friends and family who were receiving treatment at HSC. She enjoyed supporting Ronald McDonald House through donations of home-made knitting,
Many thanks to the staff at Holy Family Home for their care and compassion over the last several years.
As per Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make contributions to a charity of choice.
Always loved, always remembered.

Fondly thinking of Mrs. (Maxine) Bell. I met Mrs. Bell at an autism conference on May 11, 1999, just before her friend Linda Schwartz, who helped me work through the most turbulent times of my life, started working with me. - Posted by: Philip (Former Child Guidance Clinic student - Winnipeg School Division) on: Dec 20, 2021
