IRMA ROUGEAU
December 4, 1937 - January 1, 2022

With family by her side, Irma left this earth on January 1, 2022, to meet her Heavenly Father.
Irma was the oldest of five children born to Jean-Louis and Sara (née Gauthier) André. Irma was born and raised in Norwood where she met her one true love, Pat, and they married in April 1958. They were blessed with three children, Michel, Patricia (Bob) and Joël (Chantal), and five grandchildren, Nicole, Danelle, Jennifer, Bryan, and Alexandre. They spent more than 65 years together until Pat's passing in 2020.
In the early years, Irma was a devoted homemaker; being at home for her children. Irma had a great eye and a love of art. She dabbled with watercolour painting (her favourite medium) and took courses when time permitted. As the children left her nest, she went on to work as a Customer Service Manager for a specialized electronics company. Her family found this amusing because she knew little about electronics, however she sure knew how to satisfy her customers. After more than 20 years, she retired with Pat.
Irma and Pat were modest people who took pleasure from the smallest of things. Most of all Irma loved her Fargo get-aways with Pat. They would spoil themselves especially by dining out. They had a favourite Italian restaurant where they could have a little too much wine and then stroll safely back to their hotel, conveniently located across the street. Just being together was their greatest joy.
Having lived in Windsor Park since 1962, neighbours became good friends. The family is grateful for those friends who supported Irma, particularly in the last year. She was an active parishioner of Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens, and she missed her community due to the constraints of health orders.
We will miss Irma, but we are comforted knowing that she and Pat are together again.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
A private service will be held.

  • Our family has been blessed to have the most wonderful neighbours, Irma and Pat were two of them. There were many fun parties over the years and often a tin of Irma’s homemade marshmallows at the door for a treat. When you think of Irma and Pat you can’t imagine one without the other, surely they are reunited again. - Posted by: Shirley Mott and family (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2022
