MARLENE BRIDGES
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Marlene Bridges, on December 29, 2021, at 80 years of age. Marlene was predeceased by her husband Winston (Jack) Bridges and her parents, William Dowell Watt and Blanche Watt (nee Richardson).
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Winston (Debbie) and Carey (Gabriella) and her daughter Stormie (Cameron), along with her grandchildren, Zoe (Erin), Devin, Sarah, Quinn, Aidan, and Jenna and great-grandchildren, Violet and Archer.
She cherished growing up on Fifth Street and held dear memories of being raised in that simpler time, with her close neighbours and girlfriends. As a young woman, she worked at The Bay in the audit office and later completed her Nurses Aid Course. In her work with VON and Winnipeg Regional Health, her compassion and kindness to her clients developed into many lasting relationships and friendships.
Her favourite place was the cottage up at Lake Manitoba estates where she shared 30 years of countless memories with family and friends. We have fond memories of picking saskatoons in the cabin yard - only to indulge in a fresh baked pie during our lake movie night. She was a trooper.
Marlene was a kind and caring soul, with a loving and graceful manner. She was always there to listen with an open heart and give her gentle wisdom and advice which always made you feel better. She always said, "The greatest gift is family and being a mother is my greatest accomplishment".
Please know how truly blessed we feel to have had you in our lives. She was a devout woman who believed in the continuity of life, you will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral service will be on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 DesMeurons Street. Covid restrictions in effect, no reception to follow, interment for immediate family only, guests must be double vaccinated.

I will always remember your mom as a kind caring lady. One time at your home it was winter, we had all gone outside Lobo pulled us on the sled. Once back inside your Moms homemade buns and pea soup was heavenly. Whenever I make pea soup or buns it always brings me back to that day. - Posted by: Kelley Johnson (Old neighbour) on: Jan 08, 2022
