Kathy and Ed moved from Mather into the house next door in August 1994. It was a wonderful day meeting these incredible people who would become the dearest of friends, and the godparents of my youngest daughter Allyson. We shared many great times, chats, dinners, laughs, baking and recipes over the past 27 years, and I will miss the dear friend who was like a second mom to me. As Ed and Kathy watched my children grow, and I watched their family blossom, Kathy’s love, kindness and generosity was always treasured. From babysitting often and playing the piano with Ally (after Ed was finished playing hide and seek!); taking us in through the middle of the night when we had a carbon monoxide scare; sharing endless conversations in the front yard we shared; sharing many wonderful events - birthdays, Christmas and other holidays over the years; and for all the joy we had sharing many recipes. I went through my recipe box yesterday, and will always cherish the many little cards in her handwriting, and the recipes of hers that we have enjoyed through the years - from zucchini muffins to hamburger soup, Winnipeg salad and her famous ‘puppy chow’. I will think about her and the great lady and friend I was so blessed to have, and cherish her memory every time I make one of these. - Posted by: Kathleen (Neighbour and Friend) on: Jan 16, 2022

In the loss of a dear wife Kathy That final earthly parting Is hard no matter what age Perhaps because it is the end Of a relationship and The closer we are to that person The harder it is But praise God He does bring healing and gives comfort In the hope of our being reunited With our loved ones in the heavenly Kingdom How good it is to have the precious gift OF MEMORIES To which we hold unto till that day Remember God is your Arm that protects, Help that assures Wisdom that guides Love that endures Physician that heals - Posted by: Martha Dyck Martens (Elim Bible School) on: Jan 15, 2022
